BONSECOURS DINNING ROOM

The main room of the house is the restaurant Bonsecours with its large silk draped window and its impressive cooper and bronze victorian chandelier, of gas in olden days.

In the center we find comfortable leather padded english "Chesterfields" and Louis XIII tapestry arm chairs where it is possible to have a cocktail in front of the imposing fireplace. The tables are arranged all around to preserve a great sense of intimacy to our guests. The big Victorian buffet laden with silver recalls Montreal's opulence of XIX'th century. The game trophy's Elk, mountain goat and Roe deer a reminder of heroic huntings of the period in Canada.

An old photo of Jean-Baptiste Groleau, born in 1854, one of the last hunters, great grandfather of Ronald Dravigne, an eloquent testament. The impressing photo of the mariage of Arthur-Pierre Beaupré and Séraphine Perrin, grand parents of Gaëtan B. Trottier, was taken in New York in 1898 on their honeymoon.
